What is 'Chair Yoga?'
Chair Yoga is a wonderful way for people with physical limitation to experience the relaxation and increased flexibility that yoga brings. Many health benefits are seen with regular yoga practice, and now everyone can participate, provided they can sit in a chair, (including a wheelchair), even if they cannot get onto a floor mat.

The Benefits

Yoga goes beyond typical exercises in that it encourages quiet reflection, proper breathing, and better posture.

It works the joints and muscles to increase flexibility, improved bone density, strength, balance, and circulation in a gentle way with very low impact.

Proper breathing helps develop the tools to deal with stress, can improve high blood pressure, and deeper breathing has a calming effect on the body and mind.

The benefits of learning to properly relax brings about a calmness in both the body and mind, giving a great sense of physical and mental well-being.

Balance is improved which is key in helping to reduce the risk of falls.

Yoga is non-competitive, and focuses on listening to our own individual bodies, valuing them for what they can do at any given moment. The classes are always               adapted to  suit the ability of each individual as lots of options are given within each exercise.
