About Yoga

'Yoga' meaning to 'yoke' or 'unite' body, breath and mind, is an ancient holistic practice with its roots in India. It is so much more than the postures, which nowadays are what most people associate with the word 'yoga' and wrongly assume you have to be young, slim, fit and super bendy to be able to take part. Yoga in its completeness is a way of life that allows for total transformation on all levels, and is open to anyone with a sincere desire to live a more healthy, happy, balanced peaceful life. No matter what your age, your degree (or lack!) of flexibility, or experience, at Yogabelfast we firmly believe in the transformative gifts of yoga and its teachings, no matter where you're starting from.

Studies have shown that yoga is a powerful tool for reducing stress, regulating blood pressure, improving concentration and balance, increasing muscular strength, endurance and flexibility and it can give relief from numerous common issues such as back pain, digestive issues and insomnia.
